A research attempted to study the health ailments associated with blood types AB, A, B and O, and the results revealed that Abs have a nearly 26% greater risk of developing stomach cancer. While those with blood type A, have a 20% greater risk than blood types B and O.

The reason behind this is the formation of a bacteria, referred to as H. pylori. Medical statistics reveal that nearly 2/3 of the world’s entire population tend to have a gut infection from H. pylori, while those with blood type AB and A tend to have a highly sensitive immune system reaction to this bacteria, which puts them at a greater risk for developing cancer.

Here’s some good news for individuals with blood type O: your blood type can actually cut down your risk for developing heart disease by a whopping 23% as opposed to individuals with other blood groups. Individuals with blood groups AB and B tend to have the highest risk for developing heart ailments. Researchers explain that certain blood types tend to experience a greater risk of inflammation, which eventually develops into a full blown heart disease.

Neurological research reveals that having a blood type AB puts you at a greater risk for suffering from cognitive impairment. Primarily, adults and seniors with blood type AB tend to have a much greater problem dealing with learning problems and memorizing a list of items, which as a basic test of cognitive performance.

As compared to other blood types, Abs find it increasingly hard to memorize and remember.

Moreover, research explains that blood type AB is largely associated with certain factors that promote clotting, along with having protein within the bloodstream. Even though this explains why individuals with blood type AB have a greater risk of suffering from memory problems in their later years, it doesn’t really explain the underlying cause behind it.

Individuals with blood type O also enjoy several other health benefits. They are 37% less likely to suffering from pancreatic cancer as compared to individuals with other blood groups.

Researchers believe that people with other blood groups tend to develop pancreatic cancer due to the attacks of the gut bacteria, H. pylori, which is less likely to affect blood type O.

H. pylori not only causes cancers, but it has also been found as the underlying cause behind the heightened development of ulcers amongst individuals with blood type O. Researchers believe that this particular blood group is somehow capable of modifying the immunological response of the body towards H. pylori, however, the reason behind this is still unknown.

Experts argue that the association can be explained by the modification that takes place within the immune system of individuals with blood type O.

Now that it is clear that your blood group plays a vital role in determining the risk factors of suffering from certain diseases, one also needs to understand that researchers aren’t entirely clear of how big or small this role is.
